Appointment Policy
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Appointment times are maximized so that the doctor and staff can have ample time to serve the greatest number of patients, as thoroughly and comfortably as possible. Clients to continue to fail to notify the clinic in the event that thay are unable to make their agreed appointment time, may be charged a fee to cover the hold on the doctor or staff time that was reserved for them. In fairness to all of our clients, account-holders who chronically fail to make their appointment time, may be placed on "no-show" status. These patients are no longer scheduled and will be penciled in on a first come first serve basis, or on the basis of their pet's level of medical urgency.
Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable, but will be resolved as carefully and expediently as possible so as to minimize your waiting time. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.
For your convenience, inpatient appointments are also available. A an inpatient appointment allows clients to drop off their pet at the time that works best for them, and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask clients to 'drop off' their pet sometime in the morning between 7:30 am and 10:00 am, so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. A pick up time is scheduled so the doctor can go over the diagnosis and the support staff can give you discharge instructions. With the convenience of this free day care, client waiting time is greatly minimized.
Restraint and Handling Policy
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. Some pets feel anxiety and conflict in the exam room because their loyalties are divided between protecting their owners and obeying clinic staff. In these cases, the appropriate staff member may remove the pet to the treatment area for diagnostic sampling and handling. This benefits the client and pet by minimizing patient anxiety and client waiting time.
We require that dogs be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.
Cats must be presented in cat carriers or on harness and leash.
Exotic pets must be presented in travel cages or carriers, and must remain their until the examination room.
Vaccination Policy
For the safety of our staff members, and in adherence with state law, we require that all outpatients be up to date against rabies virus. For the safety of our all of our patients, any pet admitted for surgery, boarding, or grooming must be inoculated against rabies virus, and canine tracheobronchitis or feline upper respiratory disease.
Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks.
